Ocean Advocacy

When we founded REEF Scuba in 2019, we began with a grand vision. In this vision, we foresaw recreational scuba diving playing an integral role in coral reef conservation, and wanted to let the world know that scuba professionals were ready and willing to step up and be part of solutions.

To get our message out and our name on the map, we began connecting with stakeholders around the world. In 2020 and 2021, we took part in restoration projects with ocean advocates in Thailand, Malaysia, Honduras, Mexico, Portugal, and the United States, and attended the IUCN Conference in Marseille, France. In 2022, we plan to attend the UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon and the International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS) in Bremen, Germany.

We show up at these most important of ocean conferences to advocate for more synergy between the traditional ocean conservation sectors, and the people who are in the water every day, ready to do the work of saving the ocean for future generations.
